It's good to read from you Britt!

Thanks for your thoughts. The whole thing can be pretty muddling, especially when you hear it from people that are there to 'help.'

Hey Andrew,
I finally grabbed a few minutes to read some of what you are reflecting on. You are definitely making full use of the journalling element to make sense of your surroundings. Makes me miss being thrown into a different environment (a little)!! I know exactly what you mean by 'perspective.' I used to get really angry with anti-semitic people, and still do, but while I was in Poland, I spoke with enough people that I was forced to suspend judgment of anti-semitism somewhat just so that I could listen for the base of it, the depth of it, which was astoundingly deep and rich in causal history. Although I still am nauseated by hatred and scape-goating in any form, and would from my current viewpoint categorically reject it as an justifiable response to anything, I have gained from that experience an understanding that allows me to be more forgiving of humanity as a whole, and less rightious, to borrow your word, in thinking that I would be above those kinds of feelings myself under similar circumstances. Just as you said, we haven't experienced the unfair and terrible things many people have experienced. We're the lucky ones.

I'm really inspired by what you've written. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Andrew.
